Open Book | Charlene Chinn

Meet business and lifestyle blogger, Charlene!

We are starting a brand new series!  Open Book is a series of short, candid conversations between myself and my fellow over thirty bloggers. I’ve found that the blogsphere is a space which is very much populated by the twenty somethings – either that, or they are just better at promoting their craft!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, however as people in our thirties, blogging as a form of expression began when many of us were in college or university – in short, we were the first bloggers! Open Book aims to highlight the honest experiences, triumphs and lessons of the thirty something blogger.

We start with Charlene Chinn,  a 33 year old blogger , who works in Legal Recruiting and Human Resources for a law firm. She loves reading books and travelling, as well as writing. Read on to find out everything this Bostonian beauty has to say about the importance of moving intentionally, blogging consistently and why there is no shame in self promotion!

What is your blog called?
Charlene Chinn. This is a business and lifestyle blog focused on everyday topics and resources that can be applied in business and life.

Where are you from?
Boston, MA (Massachusetts)

Why did you get into blogging?
I’ve always had a passion for writing whether in my journaling or telling a story. throughout my career I have gained experience and learned how to navigate in spaces as a black women. I believe it is important to share my experiences and ways in which I have been able to navigate with others who may be facing similar challenges. I am also someone who believes it is important to move intentionally and with purpose (hence the lifestyle section to my blog) As a woman and black women we carry so much and yet are so unique. All of this are things I think about and feel I am truly ready to share with others.

How long have you been blogging for?
Off and on for about 4 years. This time feels different!

What is your favourite post on your blog to date?
“Be You” – a blog post I wrote last month about truly accepting who you are and not being afraid to promote yourself.

Please can you share with us a blogging high, and a blogging low?
A blogging low would be missing a whole week of posting and worrying whether or not I was falling back into old habits. A blogging high would  be finally getting professional photos taken by my amazing friend (Fena Fenalon)

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve received?

Best advice I have received is to just go for it and write. There is no right time to start. Consistency is key. I have learned consistency is really the key to it all. No matter what remain consistent there is no other option but for blessings to come your way.

What other projects would you like to embark on as a blogger?

I would like to expand into speaking engagements and speak my thoughts to a bigger audience.

Lastly, where else can we find you?

Hey! I'm black! I blog! I'm over 30! LOL.I like that Charlene's goals include speaking engagements and reaching a wider audience. I have those dreams, but they're too scary for me to say out loud, so I keep them buried.I love this new series! Well done Madeline.Berry Dakara Blog

Hey 🙄🤗 why not take part! We'd love to hear from you! Charlene's goals are pretty similar to mine too. You're scared but you have just said it out loud! Feel the fear and do it anyway

I like this Open Book series and must admit that I do feel the blogging world has become highly saturated ever since I first started out. There is so much information overload these days! Nice to hear from others how they are dealing with their blogging journey. – http://www.jamilakyari.com

Hi Jamila. Glad you are enjoying it so far. There are many more instalments to come! It is a very crowded arena these days which is why I'm doing this series to highlight those I feel should be getting more attention!

Always read the supplement labels to see if there are warnings that would make them inappropriate for you. And, of course if you have any medical conditions or take medications or other supplements it's always a good idea to speak with your doctor before starting anything new. Super easy, super healthy. You can either juice wheatgrass by itself as a shot, which is typical, in which case you will want a tray per shot per day you plan to consume. I would say roughly 1 tray = 1 shot.kizi car games free gamesfriv Games free 2019
